COMMUNITY ADVOCATES

Jeani Ferrari, Turlock

Jeani has a passion for long-term sustainability for food production in our local region.  She grew up in Stanislaus County and as a child watched Los Angeles County change quickly from the number one agricultural county in the nation to the poster child for urban sprawl.  Not only does she work to save what many consider the most productive farmland in the world, but also to promote the best long-range land use for the next generations of Valley people.

Jeani speaks before City Councils, Boards of Supervisors, service organizations and classrooms regularly.  As an advocate, she writes Op-ed articles for newspapers and appears on local TV shows.

Denny Jackman, Modesto

Denny is a native of Modesto.  He is a former Modesto City Council member, Stanislaus Council of Government (Stan COG), Vice Chair and Tuolumne River Regional Park Commissioner.  Denny was a charter member of Farmland Working Group and is active with land-use, transportation, and Tuolumne River issues.

He and his wife Patricia live in west Modesto.  He is a member of Stanislaus County Blueprint Advisory Committee and StanCOG Highway 132 Planning Implementation Project Team.

He is co-author of the Stamp Out Sprawl (SOS) Measure E on the Stanislaus County February 2008 ballot.
